Contact tracing is a proven method of identifying people who have had contact with an infected person and notifying them. Traditional contact tracing is an on-the-ground, labor and time-intensive, manual process. By applying technology and giving individuals information about their everyday movements, we can amplify traditional contract tracing efforts and slow the spread of COVID-19.

When you activate Ubsafe, your phone uses proprietary technology to track who you come in close proximity to. If you have meaningful contact with an individual who later tests positive for COVID-19, you’ll get a notification and be advised to self-quarantine and get tested. If you test positive, anyone you’ve had meaningful contact with over the last 14 days will be notified. Ubsafe never captures personal information and all data that is captures is secure and encrypted.

While nobody knows exactly what kind or length of contact causes infection, the CDC recommends anywhere from 10-30 minutes as reasonable expectations for meaningful contact and prolonged exposure.
